Hanneken also taught physical education in the Johnson City Schools and the Elizabethton City Schools. Her professional experience includes corporate wellness, non-profit program development, cardiac rehabilitation, and school administration and teaching experience at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels. Hanneken joined Milligan’s faculty in 2010 after teaching at Tusculum College for three years. She also earned a master’s degree in early childhood from ETSU. Matson graduated from Milligan in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education, with a teaching credential in Pre-K through fourth grade. ![]() Joy Matson, a Milligan alumna and member of ETSU’s Child Study Center teaching staff, was also recognized at the April 19 awards ceremony for her work with the Center. in educational leadership and administration from Lincoln Memorial University (Harrogate, Tenn.).
